1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how LocateX ("LocateX", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Initop Solutions, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the LocateX mobile application, the LocateX web application at app.locatex.tech, and related services (together, the "Service"). LocateX is a GPS vehicle-tracking platform: its core purpose is to show you the real-time location and status of vehicles connected to your account.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three general categories: information you provide directly (such as account details), information generated by the vehicles and GPS devices connected to your account, and information generated automatically by your use of the Service (such as basic technical/usage information).

3. Account Information

To create and operate a LocateX account, we collect information such as your email address and password (stored in hashed/secured form, never in plain text), and any account profile details you choose to provide. Your password is never visible to our staff.

4. Vehicle and GPS Location Data

The core function of LocateX is displaying the location of vehicles connected to your account. For each connected vehicle, we process data such as:

• Real-time and historical GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude), heading, and speed
• Vehicle status (for example, moving, stopped, idle, or offline) and ignition/engine state
• Vehicle name/label and address information derived from its location
• Movement history used to generate playback and reports

This location data is processed because it is the core functionality of the Service — LocateX cannot function as a GPS tracking product without it.

5. Device/GPS Tracker Information

LocateX connects to third-party GPS tracking hardware installed in or on your vehicle. We receive telemetry (location, status, and where supported, command responses) reported by that hardware through our backend at api.locatex.tech. We do not manufacture or control this hardware, and the accuracy and availability of the data it reports depends on the device and its network connection.

6. Usage and Technical Information

Like most connected apps, the Service may process basic technical information necessary for it to function and to keep it secure — such as login/session activity, app version, and general device/platform information (for example, operating system type). We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not use third-party advertising or ad-tracking networks.

7. Notifications

The LocateX app can show you notifications about your vehicles — for example, geofence entry/exit, overspeed, engine on/off, and device online/offline events — directly on your device. These notifications are generated and delivered based on the alert data associated with your account and your connected vehicles.

8. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including real-time and historical vehicle tracking
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure
• Generate and deliver alerts and notifications you have configured
• Send supported vehicle commands you request (for example, on compatible, connected devices)
• Diagnose problems, maintain reliability, and improve the Service
• Communicate with you about your account or the Service when necessary

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your location or account data for advertising.

9. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With the GPS tracking devices/hardware connected to your account, as necessary to send supported commands (for example, remote lock/unlock)
• With service providers who help us operate our infrastructure (see Section 10), under obligations to protect your information
• If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LocateX, our users, or others
• With your consent, or at your direction

10. Service Providers

We use infrastructure providers (such as server hosting) to operate the Service. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us and are not authorized to use your information for their own purposes.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) transmission between the app and our backend, and access controls on our systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data Retention

We retain account and vehicle data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

13. Account/Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. To request account or data deletion, contact us using the details below. We will act on verified deletion requests within a reasonable time, subject to any data we are required to retain by law.

14. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

15. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located in a country other than the one in which you reside. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to, and processed in, such locations.

16. User Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the data we hold about you. You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the details in Section 18 or Section 13.
